Germantown Community Church of God in Christ

Our mission is to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ effectively in our community while teaching principles of holy living and providing an environment where people can experience the power of the Holy Spirit that will transform their lives.

Our general purpose is to execute the mandate of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. That mandate is to make disciples of all nations. Specifically, we believe God has called us to focus on reaching those in the Southeast portion of Shelby County and the surrounding areas that do not have a relationship with the Lord.

In order to accomplish this, Germantown Community Church will be an equipping center where every Christian can be developed to his or her full potential. The development will come through; inspiring worship; teaching and preaching that is biblical and relevant to life; vital, supportive fellowship, and for outreach into the community in service and evangelism. Germantown Community Church seeks to be multi-faceted in ministries and programs-health and wellness center, youth mentoring programs, financial advisement programs, care and counseling center, homeless shelter, educational academies, etc.

As a result, the target area will be different in ten to fifteen years, with the Christian influence being increasingly felt in homes, businesses, education, and politics. We further intend in the future to multiply our ministry by planting churches, preparing our people for leadership roles in vocational groups, sending out missionaries, becoming a resource center and model for Tennessee and the nation.
